*Unit Number is your unique alpha/numeric identifier for the trailer. Trailer Type options are “ST” for semi-trailer (trailer rests on the power unit) or “FT” for full-trailer (no part of the trailer rests
on the power unit). TVC (Temporary Vehicle Clearance) may be issued after payment of all fees and allows the trailer to operate while waiting for the plate and registration.

Submitting the Request
• Trailer must be for commercial or business use (RVs, office trailers, trailers with living quarters &
those for personal use are not eligible).
• Non-Idaho based applicants must provide a copy of the title or official record of title from the base
jurisdiction in the name of the applicant. Periodic verification of ownership will occur.
• Idaho-based applicants must title in Idaho.
• Trailer plates purchased on or after July 1, 2009 are not transferrable.
• Registration fees are not refundable. Non-Idaho based applicants should first verify with their
base jurisdiction that the Idaho plate will be honored by enforcement.
• One-time fee of $106.75
per trailer.
• *TVCs (Temporary Vehicle
Clearances) are an
additional $18 per trailer.
