Rehearsals and theater-focused activities begin each day at 8:30am and run through 4:00pm. If
you need to arrive late, check out early, or you have a mid-day appointment just let the camp
staff know ahead of time. Each day’s routine will depend on rehearsal needs. Weather-
permitting, the group has outside play time around their lunch break.
PARTICIPANT GROUPS
Our multi-age program includes performers from 2
nd
grade to 10
th
grade and provides a great
opportunity for mentorship and for participants to learn from each other. There will be certain
times during the day when participants will be divided into groups for activity and rehearsal
purposes.
LUNCHES AND SCHOOL SYSTEM MEAL PROGRAM
The Biddeford School District summer meal program is available to TCTA participants at
no additional cost. All campers will have options for breakfast (served 8:00-8:30am) and
lunch (11:30am-12:00pm). Menus may be available at camp.
Families electing to use the school lunch program please indicate to staff at drop off that
their child will need a lunch.
If your child is not interested in participating in this program, please send a lunch.
Be sure to send water and snacks for our morning and afternoon snack times.
SUNSCREEN
Spray-on sunscreen is provided at camp. If you desire a different type of sunscreen for your child,
please make sure this is provided and labeled with your child’s name on it.
EMERGENCY MEDICATIONS
All participants with prescriptions for inhalers, EpiPens, and Benadryl tablets must drop off the
medication and corresponding action plan at the SPR Office the week before camp begins. Your
child will not be able to attend camp if these are not received in advance. Medications and
medical paperwork may not be dropped off at camp directly. Here is a link to the SPR Full
Medical Policy: https://sacome.myrec.com/forms/5483_medical_waiver.pdf
AUDITIONS
Auditions take place on the first day of camp. Participants do not need to prepare songs in
advance and all audition material is provided. The campers will participate in workshops to learn
songs, choreography, and script passages prior to audition. Our cast assignments are typically
announced on the second day.
CASTING
The following is an excerpt from an excellent resource on navigating the process of auditions and
casting. With the number of participants enrolled in each production this summer, we thought
this would be helpful to share as you discuss your child’s assignment with them at home:
SPR POLICY ON REFUNDS
Families have one business day following casting to withdraw from the production and be eligible
for a 50% refund. Updates must be sent to the SPR Main Office by 1:00pm.
MTI’s Parents’ Guide to the Magic of Theatre,
“Family Matters”
Announcing the Cast: The announcement of the cast can be a difficult
time if the role offered does not meet your child’s expectations.
Making the Best of Casting Decisions
Trust the Director’s judgement. The director is casting an ensemble,
not just one or two “lead” roles. It’s important for the cast to understand
the importance of working together as an ensemble and to see the
production as a whole, not as individual parts that seem less or more
important than others.
Remind your child that everyone’s contribution is important and
valued. Let your child brainstorm ideas for characteristics for his or
her role… or take the role to another level by encouraging your child
to create a “back story” for his or character… But also, remember the
director might have specific character qualities in mind.
Remember: the authors [of the musical] created every character for
a reason, and each role impacts the entire production.”
GOOGLE CLASSROOM LINKS FOR REHEARSAL MATERIALS AND PRODUCTION INFO
Below you will find Google Classroom links for each show. We encourage you to join the class,
and if your child is old enough, they may join as well. We will be adding helpful links throughout
the summer to the online classrooms as each show gets underway. You will find choreography
videos so students can practice at home, a digital copy of the script, links to rehearsal tracks,
costume inspiration boards, and more. This is a safe way to share information with parents and
campers! Updates will be added throughout the summer to the classrooms: check back for the
lunch schedule and dress up day information!
Please note: this requires a Gmail email account that is separate from a school Gmail
account to access the classrooms.

DRESS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DAY COSTUME/APPAREL NEEDS
Performers: Please refer to your Google Classroom for recommendations on dance
shoes, footwear, and costume inspiration/reference boards. Any special additional
costume information about your child’s character will be available by Tuesday of the first
week of camp. Please make sure your child has black shorts and a black tank/tee to wear
under costumes that will stay on during changes.
Tech Campers: These students should wear all-black, and please have your child wear or
bring pants instead of shorts.
Personal items: For the performance, if your child brings any personal items such as a hairbrush,
comb, make up, etc., please make sure these are sent to camp in a sealed bag labeled with your
child’s name. For hygienic reasons, campers may not share these items.
WE RECOMMEND EVERYTHING BE LABELED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME.
DRESS REHEARSAL DAY
Open dress rehearsals are held on the second Thursday of camp (the day before the show).
These are typically held at 1:00pm. Recreation department summer camps in Saco, Biddeford,
and the Kennebunks have been invited to attend. It’s a great opportunity for our campers to
perform before a small audience before the big show!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY PERFORMANCE
Each camp will culminate with a performance on the final Friday at 4:30pm. Doors open at
4:15pm. Shows are free and open to the public. We typically expect large audiences at our
performances. Check-Out is still required on production days and campers should be signed out
directly before the performance with check-out staff.
CONCESSIONS AND DONATIONS
This summer, TCTA will be offering concessions at each show and accepting donations. All
purchases are cash only.
We hope this info will help prepare you and your child for our program, and please call the SPR
Office if you have any additional questions.
Thank you for your support this season and we look forward to seeing everyone on stage this
summer!

Production Photography with Maureen Grandmaison Photography!
Twin City Theater Academy is thrilled to partner again this season with
Maureen Grandmaison Photography. Throughout the summer, Maureen
will be attending either the dress rehearsal or final performance to
capture the magic on stage. Families will have the option to purchase
digital downloads from an online gallery of the production. Students/parents can select which
ones they want from the gallery: there is no limit to how many you can choose of your child! Once
you have selected your favorites, share the list with Maureen; once payment is received, she will
send photos back as a download to print/post. The digital download option is $30.00 per show.
Discounts will be available to families with multiple children attending, participants in tech camp,
and families purchasing packages for all 4 productions this season. FMI on ordering: please see
the flyer on the next page from the studio for details and email questions to
