Under the direction of the ADN Program Director, plan, develop, instruct, and evaluate
curriculum for assigned Associate Degree (Term 4) Nursing courses (12.5 hours) and plan,
coordinate and conduct weekly 12 hour clinical experiences for 8-13 students in a regional acute
care hospital. Responsible for advising, counseling, conducting test remediation, and associated
documentation for the clinical group’s students.
Coordinate with fellow instructors in the academic setting, and practicing nurses and
interdisciplinary teams in the clinical setting, exposing students to real-life experiences
incorporating critical thinking and clinical judgment in order to optimize their educational
experiences. Prepare students for real-world employment.

Provide safe, timely, and appropriate nursing care to acute and critical care patients as
directed in the facility’s critical care areas (ICU, CCSD, ER) and other areas as assigned.

With guidance from the Chief Executive Officer and corporate entities, provide
leadership to the nursing staff of a 25 bed long term acute care (LTAC) facility, continually
assess, plan, and re-evaluate efficacy of assignments and training needs for a nursing staff of
approximately forty full-time and twenty PRN nursing staff. Oversee scheduling and assignment
for appropriateness based on staff experience and patient census and acuity.
Coordinate care with quality improvement, infection control, marketing and ancillary
services to tailor delivery of care to each patient. Strive to anticipate future needs based on
known changes and historical trends, and to plan staff education appropriately.
Dedicated to enhance patient and staff satisfaction, partner with affiliated state, federal,
and independent education, regulation and accreditation agencies to promote the facility‘s safety
and trust within the community.

Plan, coordinate and conduct clinical experience for groups of 6 -10 LVN and / or ASN
students in acute care, LTAC, Rehab, and skilled nursing settings. Responsible for classroom
management, tutoring and remediation, minor disciplinary and attendance matters, and all
associated documentation. BLS Instructor, providing initial training for new students and
recertification for students and staff. Coordinate with fellow instructors in the academic setting,
and practicing nurses and interdisciplinary teams in the clinical setting, exposing students to real-
life experiences and critical thinking in order to optimize their educational experiences. Prepare
students for real-world employment.
Remain familiar with CampusVue and Canvas academic documentation systems,
ExamSoft, Exam View Pro Test Generator, ADP Timesaver, Microsoft Office products, and
access to other education-oriented computer programs. Familiar with clinical electronic nursing
documentation systems, to include MediTech, Paragon/McKesson, and Cerner, and computerized
medication administration systems, to include Pyxis, MedDispense, and MedSelect.
Past Experience:
Past experience has largely consisted of military and civilian clinical nursing employment
in acute critical care and staff development / education / administration. Civilian experience has
led to current employment at the college academic level, while military experience led to an
