A message from our
Executive Director

Fiscal year 2010 was one of change, challenge and
celebration for the residents, staff and stakeholders
of Westminster Village North. We embraced the 21st
Century and all its technological wonders, as we held
fast to the traditional values that have earned your
trust for 38 years.
Change came to us last year with the completion
of the fourth wing of our independent living
apartment buildings, bringing 22 new apartment
homes into our community. We also added amenities
in the Tamarack courtyard, enhancing the outdoor
space with a large gazebo and a fireplace for al fresco
dining.
In our health center, we officially opened and
dedicated the Mary Newill Therapy Center — a
state-of-the-art place where the hard work of
rehabilitation feels more like a spa vacation, with
physical, occupational, speech and even massage
therapies provided by our skilled professional
therapists from our partners at Rehab Strategies.
Those same professionals now provide certified
physical training and classes in the expanded
Tamarack Wellness Center, where a spa pool adds
even more opportunities for fitness and health.
Renovations in the health center’s beauty shop,
Grandma’s Kitchen activities room, and chapel;
improvements to the Sunnyside and Riley South
entrances; new and more convenient business offices;
and an Indy 500 Lounge where residents can gather
to enjoy sports and other entertainment on large-
screen televisions all added comfort and
opportunities for our residents, families, visitors and
staff.
All of us at Westminster Village North approach
our work as an opportunity to improve services to
our stakeholders — from systems and processes to
equipment, training and even social
media. Anything that has the
potential to help us maintain our
position as the provider of choice is
something we will examine,
evaluate and, where appropriate,
adopt.

Social Accountability
As nonprofit organizations, Westminster Village North and The Westminster Foundation feel a genuine
responsibility to serve beyond our campus, bridging internal and external constituencies to be active, contributing
members of our greater community. We keep our finger on the pulse of the neighborhood, seeking opportunities
and measures to identify and exercise leadership in meeting local needs. We open our campus facilities to other
nonprofit organizations and share our time, talent and treasure with other nonprofits. We call it “social
accountability,” but in fact, it’s just one more way we live our mission. Here are just some of the ways we served in
