Instructions for Retiree Parking at SFO Tech Ops (formerly known as MOC)
SFO retirees including pilots and flight attendants may once again park (up to 14 days)
at the MOC Retiree lot, now conveniently located by the Air Train terminus.
NOTE: Only 65 retiree parking spaces are available and they are on a first-come-first-
served basis. Have a back-up plan if all “Retiree” spaces are occupied!
1. (See Map on preceding page) Obtain a retiree parking pass in person by parking
outside the MOC lobby then entering the MOC lobby and requesting one from the
security guard on duty. If the lobby is closed, pick up the phone by the entrance door
and advise security that you'd like a retiree parking pass. They'll send someone down to
issue one; security is available 24/7.
2. Plan to arrive with enough time to obtain the pass before your flight departure. You
can obtain a retiree parking pass up to the day before before your flight.
4. Security will need your file number, your vehicle’s year, make/model and license
plate number and how many days you want the pass for. We recommend asking for the
maximum 14 days in case your return is delayed. You will be issued a paper retiree
parking permit for your dashboard.
5. From the MOC lobby, turn right on Airport Blvd, and drive north to the first traffic
signal. Turn left at the first signal, then take the first right turn to reach the UAL lot
security gate. Push the call button to chat with United's security Control Center and they
will open the gate. Proceed thru the gate and turn at the first left for the retirees’ parking
spaces near the Air Train. Parking as far north as possible will give you a shorter walk
to the Air Train station.
NOTE: it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you do NOT enter the parking lot during MOC
shift changes because you will impede employee traffic at the security gate.
Please avoid these times:
5:30 to 6:30 AM
1:30 to 2:30 PM
9:30 to 10:30 PM
IMPORTANT: Parking duration for non-MOC retirees is 14 days and it is enforced!
Retirees may only park in spaces marked “RETIREES”.
Parking in unmarked spaces or beyond your parking permit expiration date may result in
towing.
6. You must display the parking pass with the expiration date on your dashboard
so it is visible along with your phone number in case they need to call you. Write
down the phone number for the UAL Security department (on your parking pass) and
take it with you on your trip in case you need to call them.
7. Lock your car, walk into the SFO Long Term Parking building (north end of retiree lot
to your left) and take the glass elevators up to the Air Train; The trains leave every 5
minutes 24/7.
From the time you arrive at the parking lot it takes about 20 minutes to get to terminal 3,
and 21 minutes to get to international terminal G
However, it takes only 16 minutes to get to international terminal A. But then you have
to walk about six minutes to international security over on the G side. So it's about a
wash. You can either get off at terminal A or Terminal G and it takes you about the
same amount of time to get to terminal G International security
Final notes:
Parking is not available for people on leaves of absence or who are separated, but not
retired.
Parking availability for non-MOC retirees is subject to change as conditions affecting the
parking lot may change again in the future.
